Why Film Programmes?

Because the availability of art film during the last ten years has been sparse. Many classic and art films can only be viewed on video-tape, rather than on the «silver screen» for which they were intended. Until now, there hasn't been a suitable place for screening classic, contemporary, recent production, alternative or amateur film titles. In addition to this, there is a great need for educational programs (1500 young people in Zagreb study film-related subjects). There is a need for coordination and distribution of programs to other Croatian cities that lack the resources of Zagreb. There is a pressing need for opening more channels of communication with the outside world.
